To go with your pet peeve! Mine is when you ask a writer to write something a little more inclusive and they make the excuse that “its not accurate/realistic to my experience” ok sure i understand that but also this is under a fanFICTION about SKZ Bangchan as a werewolf in heat?? Clearly youre capable of writing something outside of your personal experience
A lot of the time the details like ‘running hands through hair’, eye colour, nipple colour, all that is completely filler to make the story longer and doesnt really have anything to do with the actual plot,
Those details could easily be switched up or gone without completely and it wouldnt effect the story in the slightest
Also inexperienced reader is a nightmare, as someone who KNOWS about sex and has HAD sex its hard when literally every fanfiction has it, even ones that dont mention it at all, its like a whole jumpscare seriously, why do i have to be innocent? Can i not be a slut??
For once i want reader to be ‘regular’ and not this infant-like idiot with zero experience in life, dont tell me the reader is 23 years old and living on their own with a job and then make them so inexperienced they dont know what alcohol or a phallus is like be ffr 🙄
definitely. i understand not being able to be completely accurate when trying to be inclusive but it's honestly not that hard. i dont have straight hair or light skin, but i make an effort not to exclude anyone who has those features.
inexperienced reader is highkey one of my favourite tropes, probably because i myself am inexperienced. but i feel like there's really only a select few of writers who know how to write it and keep me engaged. inexperienced doesnt mean i cant be horny or be lustful. i just dont understand why the reader never knows what an orgasm is. surely even if you've never experienced one you would know what it is.
i also agree that inexperienced reader also borders on child-like when they dont even know anything about alcohol, or they cant even speak for themselves. it's expected for the reader to be awkward and maybe even slightly uncomfortable, but for the usually fem reader to be so clueless about what's going on is just not enjoyable for me. but of course to each their own.
