there are many things charlie hasn’t told diego. framing monty, being threatened by monty, his drug problems, his past with rehab, why he got kicked out of his old school, being into alex, the scars on his arms. charlie saint george is a treasure trove of secrets, even from his so called best friends, and if one thing comes out it’s likely that everything else would come tumbling out afterwards. question immediately makes him tense up, panic wiping his mind of everything except for what he doesn’t want diego to know. the way he’s shifted, breath hitching slightly, it’s not like he can act like he isn’t being called out. he can’t pretend to be oblivious. a moment is spent just staring at diego, trying to work out based on his face alone exactly what he knows, but as usual his face doesn’t particularly give anything away. had he already hinted at what he knew? mind tries to backtrack over the conversations they’ve had today, or even this week, this month, but nothing comes to mind; far too panicked to really think through the past. “ when-- uh-- planning on telling you what ? ”
