It wasn’t the first night Jean came home exhausted, and he was almost certain it wouldn’t be the last. His day started at five thirty in the morning, his alarm waking him up for another day of work, he left his lover in bed, and got ready for his morning and afternoon shift at the burger shack. After that shift, he came home for about an hour to eat and, If he was lucky, spend some time with Enjolras. The following few hours were spent at the local pediatricians office where he filed paperwork till ten thirty then usually picked up dinner from somewhere or came home and cooked for Enjolras.
A schedule like that to anyone sane would seem crazy, but to Jean it had become a life style and even though there were moments where he wished he could act his age again, not ten years older than he was, he knew he had a cause for doing this, someone he was doing it for, Enjolras.Whenever he felt particularly tired or hopeless, he remembered for who he was doing this and it always brought a smile to his lips. Enjolras was a phenomenal musician, and him and his band would make it one day. They just needed a little help….and money until they could, which Jean would happily provide, since it made Enjolras happy. Though it was obvious the early mornings and long nights were beginning to take a toll on his barely adult body. As an eighteen year old he still needed those eight hours of sleep which he evidently wasn’t getting. But who was he to complain when he had such a perfect boyfriend who loved him unconditionally.
So as he walked in at eleven thirty that night, he didn’t think about his sore legs or fuzzy vision, he only thought of the money he’d made that would go into the band and make Enjolras’s smile that much bigger.
