Tonight we saw Handel’s opera Orlando an opera last staged @sfopera in 1985 With the illustrious Marilyn Horne in the title roll to much acclaim! 34 years seems a long time to wait for a reprise but this cast and production made up for the long wait! Countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen @aryehnc sang the roll of Medoro his voice is a marvel! The title roll was sung by @sashamezzomama her voice is amazing! @christinagansch sang the roll of Dorinda in her US debut has an amazing voice and we hope to see more of her! #HeidiStober gave a strong showing in the roll of Angelica! The production was updated to a 1940’s psychiatric ward there where moments that evoked some of the wittiest moments from Noel Coward!
