Kiss. cheek kiss and nose kiss. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS SUPPOSE TO SPECIFY.
It was all he could do to convince her not to use his poppies. The elegant way the plumeria flowers glided across the rivers's surface seemed to satisfy her enough. She also insisted they be bought, despite his attempted persuasion with pretty, free flowers. Always with the morals, she was.
The two, such an odd pair, sat on the docks nearest Dunwall Tower, along the river Wrenhaven. The young girl explained the little ritual simply. Place a kiss on the middle of the flower to make a wish, and toss it into the water where it would float away and come true. Of course he would humor her, as he wasn't one to put much faith in plant kisses to make his wildest dreams come true.
Silent wishes, she specified, otherwise they wouldn't follow through. He was glad for that, as they had a lot of flowers, and he didn't think he could keep coming up with wishes. As for the girl, well, he could only imagine what she was thinking of. The thief wouldn't pin the traditional pony wish on her, but for all he knew, it could be close.
"Mister Garrett?"
Her question broke him of his distracted gaze across the river, and he rose an eyebrow, prompting her on. He would correct her, tell her to just call him Garrett, but it wasn't much use in the end. She continued as her small hands gathered three more plumerias, pale thumbs stroking over the pastel petals.
"Do you think these could work on people?"
Blackhand's gaze turned a bit skeptical, but playfully so as he glanced over at her, a smirk tugging at the corners of his mouth.
"Perhaps. But I don't know if they would appreciate a dunk into the river bank."
A giggle bubbled up from the younger then, her dark eyes shifting from her older companion to the aforementioned water below. She spoke up again, smiling brightly, as if a grand idea struck her.
"Don't make a wish, then?"
She turned herself more to face him, her expression hopeful. A quiet sigh slipped from the thief and he leaned back, propping himself on palms placed behind. What was it with children and kisses? Her father was obviously depriving her. Arching over, he pecked her upper cheek, a kiss that was brief and lacking any particular sweetness. But she didn't seem to mind. In fact, she expected another. Seeing it in her continued cheerful expression, he brushed his lips past the tip of her rosy nose, and, to his surprise, she returned the gesture.
His smile widened just slightly as he pulled back, resisting the urge to scratch his nose.
"I trust to didn't make a wish as well?"
The empress' eyes seemed to twinkle, then, and she glanced over at the water with a certain deviousness her squeaky chuckle.

The only difference between scaling the stone of The City and clambering up the worn, off-white walls of Dunwall Tower was familiarity. He had yet to become accustomed to the way the bricks felt beneath his boots and the way the dust smelled and gathered under his gripping fingertips. The shadows were something universal at the very least, and the way up to the higher bedroom windows was scattered with dark patches. There were several entrances to choose from, but the starry sky blended well with the dimness of one room in particular. That, and it's seal was conveniently lifted, a small group of flowers in a pot sitting to the sill's farthest right end.
Garrett slipped inside feet first, minding the plant of course, and touched down on his toes with the delicacy of a dancer. It definitely was a well lived in space, however he wouldn't risk checking the bed. If he remained quiet, he wouldn't need to worry about waking the unsuspecting sleeper in any case.
Fingers immediately went to work, going through a nearby desk drawer. While the thief may be in a foreign place, the act of searching for valuables was muscle memory at this point. And he was sure he would find plenty in such a regal residence. The architecture on the outside alone would make Eastwick turn in his grave with jealousy, no doubt. He may need to return in the future with a larger satchel.
