So, for #heijibirthday2025 week 5 "alternate universe", thought it'd be fitting to show off his design the the deltarune au I'm doing.

So yah. I really like idle animations, so I did those. He has two* forms in battle, based on him having a chill and happy vibe normally but his interrogation style is agressive, haha. Some fake screenshots for attacks here.

So yah. In normal mode he has thought bubbles, with an real simple animation of a lightbulb turning on and off, like, you know representing the "aha!" moment.

In interrogation, light beam is gray and sweeps over the battle field. If the soul touches it, it doesn't take damage and the light beam stops and charges an actually damaging attack (pretty quick, like Organikk's one attack) so you have to move outta the way.

Idk, pretty basic ideas for attacks but they have some interactions in in a double battle. I'll probably expand the attacks later, haha.

Okay, here's also some flavor text I came up with, I haven't come up with/written down dialogue yet...

Casual mode: *Hintoree brags about an undercover mission to read books after bedtime. *Hintoree brags about finding the whereabouts of the mysterious "box of the breakers". *Hintoree brags about shadowing lighteners in disguise while they extorted people for candy.

Interrogation mode: *Hintoree shines his light in Susie's face. *Susie tries to bite him. *Hintoree shines his light in Ralsei's face. *Ralsei covers his eyes with his hands. *Hintoree shines his light in Kris's face. *Kris's fringe makes this ineffective.

*Hintoree claims his face being lit from below makes the shadows fall on his face in an intimidating way.

Uh, and that's all I had for now?? Okay, maybe I'll just explain some design details.

so... he a flash light... yah.

Hat is a toggle lightswitch, mimics the way he turns his hat when he's into a case. But in this au it actually switches, turns on the Y-axis, instead of like in the source material with z-axis rotation.

The tail is a wrist strap :) he doggie coded. So, you can see his tail wagging quickly in the second gif, it's cuz he's not actually angry, just trying to be intimidating and excited to find out more stuff about this mysterious group.

...also pocket. hands almost always in pocket. because that's a thing that happens often in the source material. so much official artwork of him (and Shinichi and somewhat Kogoro) standing with hands in pocket.

Oh yeah and the head shaking in place is half inspired by the temmie enemy in undertale :) what can I say, it silly, and conveys intensity :)
