"I can never regret. I can feel sorrow, but it’s not the same thing."
THE LAST UNICORN MEME. ACCEPTING.
she doesn’t say she doesn’t believe him, but she’s sure he can sense it as loudly as if she had. sorrow and regret, two sides of the same coin, both defined by how they ache. how can you feel one without the other ? there’s a hope there, though, the faintest glimmer of it. there’s a certain humanity in the sadness of sorrow, one all beings can connect with — one she can connect with. perhaps with it, she can reach the man inside the monster.
there’s a silence so palpable it’s like a second skin, and she curls her fingers into her cloak, hazel eyes boring holes into his dark figure. “ so what brings you sorrow, then ? ”
