ooh i wanna ask if heist!max is aware that the detective is investigating him? or is he just like oh! :) thats my friend who works in law enforcement . ALSO, if max is unaware of what the detective does for work, does she try to befriend him intentionally to find out his secrets???
ohhh i do think that both the detective and max would not know about each other. they meet at a bar probably the bar that bartender and carlos meet at and they just hit it off. it’s just a one night stand originally but it moves more into situationship territory. and they’re just. blissfully unaware.
like after max leaves her apartment, detective goes to the station and is literally investigating the art robberies and cannot find who’s at the head of it all, who’s the brains behind the operation. meanwhile, max is plotting for another heist but cursing that the police seem to be getting closer and closer to them and he just can’t have that.
i do think that there’s a moment somewhere when the detective goes undercover to an art auction where she suspects the gang is going to strike and just. finds max there. and both max and the detective don’t know they are staring right at the person they’re looking for, and instead get sidetracked because oh my god is he/she on a date?
