“You know, babe, you seem a bit stressed.”
Admittedly, you have been stressed. Despite working with Indigo and living out your dreams, that last heist was a bit too much and you need some time to decompress. It takes a certain type of mentality in order to deal with what you have on a regular basis, coming into close quarters with law enforcement who want to see you rot behind bars. He steps up behind you, rubbing your shoulders and raising an eyebrow when you melt into his hands a bit.
“Yeah… just a bit… not too bad…”
Indigo frowns at your answer, thinking as his hands continue to work across your shoulders and up your neck. He pauses after a while, resting his chin on the top of your head as his arms dangle down on either side of your head. After a bit of silence and you fiddling with his hands, he huffs, standing up.
“Pack your bags, we’re going on a little getaway for a bit.”
He pats your shoulder, whistling for Thief to get up so he can get his things together. You take a second to blink, before just slowly getting up to pack a bag. Due to jobs, you’ve learned how to pack efficiently and make it look light, but it occurs to you about halfway through that you don’t have to pack anything work related, and instead choose to take some more recreational and self-care type items. Indigo comes in later to throw a bag together, looking excited as he takes both of your suitcases out to the car, returning shortly to steal you away and take you to the car.
Thief enjoys the ride, sticking his head out the window and letting his tongue hang out the side of his maw. You take charge of the music as Indigo is lost in his thoughts and driving, occasionally humming along to your music selection. He does absolutely refuse to give you any sort of hint as to where he’s taking the two of you, and is insistent on it being a surprise for the three of you. It’s probably not a surprise for him since he’s the one coming up with an idea, but you choose not to argue with him about technicalities.
He pulls up into a resort parking lot, helping you down from the seat and lets Thief go run around for a bit. He holds you hands, looking at you with much sympathy in his eyes.
“Nothing will go wrong, we can keep Thief in his room, and I will be doing absolutely everything I need to in order to make you relax.”
“Indi, you’re ridiculous…”
“Maybe, but I love you, and I’m okay being crazy for you.”
