Sam wasn’t sure what he’d expected when he’d signed on to join Steve in hunting down the Winter Soldier. After over a year with no sign of the other man, he was beginning to think they’d never find him, especially once Steve gets pulled back into Avengers business.

Sam was right. He doesn’t find Barnes.

Barnes finds him.

I lost count of the number of hours I spent on this overall, but man, I am so happy with how it turned out, I really feel like I improved so much and learned a lot over the course of drawing it. Also, I think I kind of conquered my fear of backgrounds and shading, which is cool. Plus I always love seeing the process behind the creation of digital art, since it’s usually interesting and helpful to see what decisions go into reaching the final outcome (so...many...decisions...), and I learned a lot about taking an image from a concept in my head to a fully-realised piece of art. 

Art is one of those things that for me has never been instinctive the way that it seems to be for other artists, but this has been a great experience and lesson to myself that working hard and spending time actively trying to learn more will help me improve, which I’m sure is the case for artists of any skill level. If anyone has any questions about the process behind this, feel free to drop me a message!

Day 7 of the Draw Sam Wilson Challenge (plus bonus sketchy Bucky)

I wasn’t going to do this today since work is picking up again, but I didn’t want to break my streak, so from now on I’ll do the sketch on one day and the lines/colours the following one (so tomorrow I’ll work more on this and post it again when it’s looking more polished.)

Day 2 of the Draw Sam Wilson Challenge

Slightly less happy with this one - getting the likeness right is hard, and this was actually my fourth attempt, but I learned some things while doing it, so it’s not all bad.
