It had been hours, maybe even days, definitely felt like days, since she had last slept, or even had the prospect of getting some rest. Her entire body felt caged, too jittery, too in tune with everyone else’s movements and evolving energies.
She was getting sick of it, all cooped up in here, with every single fiber of her being on edge.
Her eyes darted around the room they were all currently settled in, while the self appointed interim leaders held their meetings. She scanned the inhabitants, nodding to a few she somewhat knew, until her eyes landed on fuck, that really him? A grin appeared on her face, as she bounced up from her spot on the ground and pretty much ran over to the one person who didn’t mind when he got stuck training her as a rookie.
“What are you doing here?!” she animatedly asked, as she went in for a hug, “I thought you’d be in there with the big wigs?”
