valentine’s day for the past two years had been---- hard. not that she & her husband had ever done anything special for the holiday, but it made her sorely aware of what exactly she was lacking, now. and so, she turned to drink to distract herself. perhaps the unhealthiest of coping mechanisms, if ever there was one, but it brightened her mood for the festivities. and, apparently, put her in the mood to pester helios, approaching him with a gasp, reaching, teasingly, for the tankard in his hand. “aren’t you a little young to be drinking, young man?”

“Always, sweetpea. Things are always worse. But you know what. That’s fine. I choose to see the optimism in our situation. I have a house, I have a life and a job and family. And that’s pretty fucking great.” Glitch beamed, she really needed to stop pretending to be so okay.

“And I prefer the term take care of instead of murder, but we don’t always get what we want, do we?” Glitch said with a grin. “But I suppose you do have a point. A lie is a misdirection of sorts.”
