I’ve had the strangest crossover idea stuck in my head, and I need to air it out, okay.
So I watched Weapons, y’know, with Julia Garner, who also plays Silver Surfer in the new Fantastic Four movie with Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm. Well, it got me thinking of a Weapons/Stranger Things crossover. I’m not sure what ship it would be for, but I’m guessing there are multiple options. Walk with me here.
Eddie survives the events of season 5. He graduates, spends some time trying to make a music career happen, doing odd jobs on the side, anything that’ll spit into his tip jar to pay the bills. He never made it out of Hawkins as he planned to, but he’s staying optimistic. He’s still going to pack it up and leave this godforsaken place behind.
Then one day, the news breaks that 17 kids have gone missing. All at the exact same time, in the exact same strange manner, and all from the same classroom: Justine Gandy’s classroom. Like every other teenage boy during the four years Justine Gandy attended Hawkins High School, Eddie too had had a crush on her. Maybe he even sold her some weed a few times. He managed to get a conversation or two out of her at some house parties when everyone was home for the holidays from college. Not exactly friends, the high school social hierarchy would never allow that, but friendly enough that now that high school is over and they’re no longer bound by those same rules, Eddie does not hesitate to approach Justine when he finds her alone, spitting into a drink, at the local bar. He doesn’t know what happened to the kids in Justine’s classroom, or how to fix it. He has half a worry this is Vecna back again to make heroes of much too narrow shoulders. But after what he went through in the Upside Down, he knows that she needs a friend, someone who will believe her, and even if this isn’t Vecna, he knows a few people who might be able to help regardless.
And so, Eddie calls in a few favors, and the whole squad shows up to help solve this mystery. From all corners of life: some still trying to get through college, some still with no idea what they’re supposed to do with the rest of their lives, some in romantic relationships far more serious than Eddie has ever dared, and some working steady jobs that they need to call in sick from in order to come to the rescue once again in Hawkins. Steve, Robin, Nancy, Jonathan, Mike, Will, Eleven, Dustin, Lucas, and Max. They all gather for something they haven’t been up against before, but with all their hard-earned experience with the Upside Down, they show up at Eddie’s door like well-weathered field agents, ready to crack down on yet another monster.
Justine has no idea who half of these people are, or how they’re going to help find her missing kids, but she trusts Eddie because, strangely, he’s the only person in town who acts like he knows what she’s going through, being ridiculed for something that was never her fault.
Do you see the vision here? Maybe this could be a Chrissy x Eddie thing? Steve would make a very good kindergartenteacher too. I think there’s potential here. Alright, thanks for hearing me out lol.
