" That being said, her primary method of self defense mainly consisted of using the elements of nature around her, plus the infected's own weaknesses, against them. Of course she knew how to shoot a gun -- she'd taught herself that from a very young age. But they were loud, required ammunition, and frankly, she just didn't care for the constant flashing lights in the darkness hurting her eyes. Not if she can just mix a couple of chemicals from her bag with water bottles or chuck it into a puddle and call it a day.

TO PROVE HER point further, she lines the shotgun up with a zombie in the near-distance, and pulls the trigger...and gets sent flying to the ground cartoonishly. Sitting up, she blinks a couple of times before turning to Francis with her brow furrowed.

( he may or may not be fucking with them...... ) "Go on. Try it."

a part of them wants to scoff, tell him that he clearly takes them for a fool; but they know how shotguns work- hell, any gun was easy to understand given all you have to do is aim & fire, but their usage of a pistol was merely out of comfort, even then, it was a necessity to learn it. melees won't always do the job, after all.

still, he forces the gun into their hands- heavier than it looks, but they're stronger than they look.

lightly shoving the other away with an elbow, ally walks up to one of the shambling infected. strangely, it hardly notices their presence. did that make this easier or harder? didn't matter. they lift the shotgun up to its face.

& pull the trigger.

ignoring most of the recoil, ignoring the blood that gets on them, ignoring their brain wanting to laugh at him for thinking they would screw up somehow, they just.. stare at francis. almost coldly.

normally i'd ask how someone so.. impulsive could survive this long, but he pulls his weight. i don't wanna be mean, but he can feel like a bit of a bully sometimes. brawn over brains.. he's the tallest out of everyone here, & loud. so loud.

despite all of that? he's interesting company, even if i know i shouldn't egg him on with stupid shit. i just need to get used to him, that's all.

he's not stupid. he isn't completely mindless, instincts to maim aside- the other man's taunts are met with a gurgled hiss, heard from the rooftops. he couldn't reach him here, he's safe here.

if this was any other person, the hunter would've torn them to shreds, but this guy was huge- way more than he could chew alone. twitching fingers curl, say for the middle one. a nice gesture just to piss francis off even further.

EXCITEMENT PRACTICALLY RADIATED off the scientist, blue eyes wide as the two survivors watched the flames dancing across the zombie-littered parking lot, engulfing the entire area. It wasn't hard -- one well aimed shot of a gun hitting several gas cans and an additional sodium-laced water bottle ( previously contaminated upon discovery, of course, she's not an idiot, ) that set off the chain explosion that even lit the fires to begin with. Almost chirping like a bird, Evelyn tapped her feet on the ground a bit in a little display of enthusiasm, watching the way the infected fell. While any normal, reasonable person would be horrified at the sight of humans burning alive, the only thing that seemed to bother her was the smell, making her nose scrunch up a bit.

HEARING FRANCIS SPEAK from behind, she turned her head over her shoulder, and the grin remained on her expression.

" TH-THAT, MY FRIEND, was ch-chemistry in action. See, when so-sodium meets w-water, the electrons in the sodium p-p-pair with the hydro-drogen ions in the water, which releases h-heat and creates hydrogen g-g-gas. The gas also c-causes the sodium to b-b-bounce on the water, multiple times in a row ! Th-that's why I like to sp-sprinkle small amounts in a water b-b-bottle and put the cap on, i-it b-b-builds more pr-pressure, makes a bi-bigger boom. "
