Macaria's deepest desire is to be less lonely.

Death is often misunderstood and even feared, it t doesn't help when most people beg to more time or try to talk their ways out of their own death that has already come to pass when death comes for them. Although Macaria is the goddess of blessed death that doesn't mean everyone has made their peace with moving on or is even willing to entertain the idea that their time is up.

What she does is often very lonely, the only interactions she has some days are with humans and their souls once they pass. Also death is a hard concept to be surrounded by constantly, for that to be your sole purpose for being I would think that doesn't help with her feeling lonely either.

Macaria spends a lot of time in the human world surrounded by beings with a finite life span, she also often gets too involved in certain human's lives if she's taken an interest in them and gets her hopes up that something will happen to delay the inevitability that is death. Her cycle of getting too attached and then getting upset when someone she's taken an interested in dies isn't healthy at all and yet she keeps doing it, expecting different results.

I would say Macaria is viewed more favorably than other gods or beings of other forms of death but she is still death at the end of the day and humans get real weird when confronted with their end.

Hera's eyes moved to Athena's face, a brow raising in bemused interest at what Athena might think was going on in her mind. (Though, if she was being entirely honest with herself, she knew that she was far more predictable than she cared to admit.)

                     Hades might be aged, but his memory was still flawless. He did not remember bestowing a key upon anyone, let alone her. He frowned as he crossed the room to examine the key in question. Not that he doubted her word....but that he did doubt her word.                     “I do not recall doing so. Was I drunk?”
