freed from triage for the time being, moving his way to the nurse's desk while his eyes stare over the screen. scanning for his next patient, eyes landing on acacia before committing to a double take. god bless the people who wash the scrubs, he knows they can't have it easy.

mentally recalling the notes for the current trauma case before him. female presenting patient, late twenties, awake and responsive, suffering from a gsw to the leg, bruising, and a possible broken nose. luckily, the gsw is just a graze, minor attention needs to be paid to it and miles leaves another intern to attend to it. gaze falls on a crooked nose, gloved fingers raising patiently before their face as eyes connect with theirs, offering a gentle smile. patient satisfaction, remember --- kind, eye contact, smiles, speak softly. " hi, it's dahlia, righ---- , " words fall short, hands removed from her at the initial shock of blood hitting his face, a disbelieving scoff passes his lips, mouth hanging open. officially one of the worst things to happen yet. much to his dismay, quiet laughs sound from his peers, stuck staring at her blankly. mere blinks, trying to calm himself from frustration. there's no crying in emergency medicine.
