Okay, AU where Christian sells Grant out to Hydra after finding out he has the potential of being gifted. Hydra ends up experimenting on Grant, trying to get his powers to awaken. Grant finds out it was all Christian's fault and goes to take revenge. After that, he starts slowly losing himself due to the dark nature of his powers. His younger siblings somehow get involved and try to stop him before he goes completely dark. With Skye's help of course.

The chain is not the important detail here. The writers can and will fuck around with basic precepts from the comics to tell the story the want to tell.
Is this person Hellfire? God knows, but the lack of a chain is hardly decisive. Also, if you think the lack of chain is decisive in this person (who is named James, by the by) being not being Hellfire, then make your own post.

Not trying to shit on Anyone’s parade here, but what on earth is with this ‘Hunter will try to kill Ward with a Terrigen Crystal’ idea? I mean, yes, I personally would rather not have Hellfire!Ward, but I’m not against the idea and I know it has a lot of evidence and support in canon, comparatively. And it has some good aspects too. And I know that the most likely route to go from point A (where we are) to point B (Hellfire!Ward) is to make Ward an Inhuman. But the ‘Hunter will try to kill Ward with a Terrigen Crystal’ idea makes no sense to me. 1.) Where would Hunter get one? 2.) Why on earth would Hunter use on on Ward? A bullet to the head works faster and easier, and if he wanted to make Ward hurt, there are better ways to make him suffer while killing him. Plus, Terrigen Crystals aren’t a garunteed method of killing - its not like anyone suspected Garner of being an Inhuman, after all. Hunter, while impulsive, isn’t a complete moron. 3.) How does he carry the thing without, you know, killing himself? I mean, is there something in the canon that I missed? Some indication that this is Hunter’s plan (him looking at or taking a Terrigen Crystal, etc)? Or is it just random theorizing?
You don't seem to mind the idea of Hellfire!Ward, so in your Haylie/Ada verse, why is he completely human?
I don’t mind the idea of Ward being Hellfire, because as I see it, right now in the narrative we need something drastic that would make Ward drift towards the team again - something to make Skyeward happen (because as long as Skye/Daisy and Ward are not on speaking terms we have no chance of them getting together). Ward turning Inhuman could easily be this drastic twist - and it would be interesting to see how the team would handle this situation (also, they would be obliged to take him in, Skye/Daisy would insist on “helping” him, and Andrew would have to analyze him, and bum - he would at last get the psychological help he is in so dire need of).
In the Haylie/Ada verse we don’t need this drastic twist - there Grant moves away from HYDRA a lot sooner, his attachment to the team being enough to reject Garrett, and since then he’s not so deep into his deeds against the team, they can move past it. So, by the principle of “if it isn’t broken, don’t fix it”, I don’t need Ward to be an Inhuman there (also, the Haylie/Ada verse mostly focuses on other kinds of conflicts, and since I already have a well established timeline there, I don’t know when I could wedge a Terrigenesis in)
I Know I’m Not The Only One...
But sometimes I feel like I really am the only one who doesn’t want Hellfire!Ward
