Craving It All (Hellfire Riders: Bull and Sara)
Bull is a patient man and the slow torture of waiting for Sara to give him a sign that she is ready for him to make a move is his favorite form of torture. Until she asks for a kiss and sends them hurtling towards a future that will change them both forever.
This was I think my favorite Hellfire story yet? I am not totally sure I can identify why... I mean I love a giant, vaguely grumpy hero who has a thing for the tiny little spitfire. I love a tiny, feisty woman with a dark and tortured past and a desire to have a future no matter the cost. But I think it was that Ms. Wilde had a character who didn’t “need” to be a representative character but did it anyway. Sara is a Muslim woman and it doesn’t define her character and it isn’t what makes her special but it is just a great representation. Bull totally accepts her and even goes to be more accommodating himself (giving up pork products and offering to stop drinking) out of respect and affection. There is some major-ish angst, some serious heat and some great one-liners just to top it off.
Hellfire Riders: Saxon and Jenny (1-3)
Saxon Gray went to prison for five years after saving Jenny Erikson from an attack that could have destroyed her. Jenny Erikson has been in love with Saxon since that day. They can never be together because of so many reasons - but when her world starts to crumble - he might be the only thing that is left standing.
I loved this combined volume. (And continue to devour others in the series.) Jenny is a quiet, steady, iron-willed woman who has pined for years for Saxon. But shouldn’t be thought of as a pushover. Saxon is big, mean and rough to everyone except Jenny and doesn’t really care what happens as long as she is happy and safe. I highly recommend if you like some mutual pining, a bit of angst and lots of steamy scenes.
Logistical note: Ms. Wilde has a bunch of books in this series so make sure you are reading in order. There are combined editions for Saxon and Jenny but the best way to make sure you are reading is to check the order on Goodreads. Spoilers for this would be a bummer.
