  He swears to god he’s seen this girl before. He doesn’t know where, has literally no IDEA where, because this is the United States, and he’s usually in England, but she looks achingly familiar, and he can’t really help himself from pointing a finger at her and dragging scuffed converse to stand directly in front of her. He looks at her with the tilt of his head and eyebrows furrowed, looking completely confused and a little too accusing. “ You--do I know you from somewhere ?  God, you look so fuckin’ familiar, and I can’t fuckin’ place it ! Are you a movie star or some shit ? Fuckin’ famous or somethin’ ? ”

leave it to FATE or CHANCE to toss the most unlikely encounters at his feet. the man had simply gone out to collect a few things ( mostly for his wife--- some flowers he though she might like, along with a tea he’d just discovered that he’d love to share with her ), take them home and carry on the day. A NORMAL DAY. but those come fewer and fewer these days; jude ought to know that he must ALWAYS be prepared for the worst at hand. but this ? this isn’t the worst. simply inconvenient, he thinks. TO SEE HER. to feel her presence--- one he had willed himself so desperately to forget.  but eyes catch sight of familiar blonde hair ( which stands as a reminder of his type ). he’s tired; JUDE IS A YOUNG GOD WITH OLD BONES. fist tightens around the stems of the bouquet as eyes meet, he SCOFFS low, turns on his heels and takes his time to leave without a word. in his mind he repeats: she doesn’t remember you.

           “ya’ got an aura about ya’.” wide, dark eyes regard him seriously, head tipped a little to the side. her nose wrinkles a little, fingers playing long the ends of her hair with a frown. “someone i’ve been really tempted to throw off a building. kind of like ya’ spent a lot of time around ‘em and it’s rubbed off on ya’. or, ya’ know, they did the rubbin’ off on ya’, which wouldn’t actually surprise me. that seems right on board with his weird, possessive attitude.” 

                       and here letha ott provides a guide for how not to greet and complete and total stranger. her mama would have her hide for speaking to someone like that, but it is what it is. and, she’s probably got the same aura about her when it comes to xaphan, but that’s not something she’s going to own up to right then.
