Octavia, coming from a lowly family in The Forgotten and raised for the most part by her older brother, has a particularly tumultuous personality.
Don’t get me wrong, she’s going to cause a war amongst the different lore and ruin her brother’s place in the guard, and she follows the heirarchy of the Forgotten Kingdom and tries not to cause TOO much of a stir, although she’s well-versed in finding trouble for herself.
There’s been many a time that Jake has had to come save her from a bind but she’s been trying to keep him out of it for the most part lately, what with all the shit he’s been going through.
Octavia is loyal to the Merfolk. She is proud to be Mer and loves herself and her species (is not NOT prone to running her fingers through her hair every time she sees herself in a mirror).
While she doesn’t have her brother’s blind devotion to the royals, she respects the heirarchy and doesn’t act as though she is more important than she is. She has always known she was bottom of the barrel, her and Jake knew this from a young age, and maybe that’s why she happens to find herself in trouble frequently.
Beings more powerful than her can overule her and take advantage of her, and for the most part she just has to allow it (not without some fiery comments and a hiss).
Octavia’s soul gut-instinct is to survive, and sometimes that means running with the wrong crowd to get what she wants, sometimes it means hiding out at Jake’s place for a week so no one knows where she is.
Above all else, she is fiercely loyal to her brother. She only came to Calamity for him. Her motivation is to survive, and for Jake to survive with her, or without her.
While Octavia loves to be reckless, and she pretends to be less intelligent than she is in the presence of more powerful beings, she feels the tensions, she senses the war coming between the species. Her objective is to survive it.
How? Where’s the tightrope between flying under the radar and having a connection to enough people that she will be saved?
WANTED CONNECTIONS (to be edited & added over time, but for now):
First and foremost, she needs a job. She’s not that special, so something low-ranking would be perfect. Even more perfect? Something completely degrading.
T O X I C ; honestly, give me all the toxic relationships I can ask for. People she owes, people she’s indebted to. Any of it, I want it.
Maybe a friend would be nice.
HEADCANONS:
Waiting at her brother’s Seaside Cottage for him to get home to explain to him that she needs to stay here for a few days, and it’s really not a big deal, you’ll barely notice that I’m here. Just in case though, if someone knocks on the door, asking for Octavia, tell them I’m dead and you’ve just come back from my funeral.
Roaming around the streets in the Haven, ignoring one of her knees trying to buckle with every few steps. Everything hurts, but she can’t show weakness, she can’t try and stretch her legs now, not with all the lore around her. What’s the neon sign down there? Sinsation? That looks fun.
Pretending that she is less intelligent than she actually is in the presence of more powerful beings in order for them to underestimate her.
