The Inspiration behind Distress the Hellmare Joey the Warhorse Puppet

The video speaks for itself, and these pictures fail to emphasize the detail that the puppeteers and the creators went through to bring The Warhorse to life.

I do my best to capture the same feeling with Distress in my writing, which is why I go in depth when describing her movements and emotions.

If you are a lover of theater or horses, I cannot recommend checking out this video enough. Unfortunately this video is quite old and not the best quality, but the fact that I am still moved by it 14 years later is a testament to its greatness.
