Canada's Best Dressed 2018: See who made the list!
Canada is bursting at the borders with stylish fresh faces and fashion-forward industry veterans in every facet of stardom – from the silver screen and music to sports and daytime TV – so we’ve scoured the Great White North to bring you the 25 stars who help keep our country on the style map. Our listees come from the worlds of top tunes (hi, Shawn Mendes and Celine Dion!), high fashion (we see you, Grace Mahary and Victoria’s Secret first-timer Winnie Harlow!), the silver screen (think: Ryan Reynolds, Sandra Oh and Catherine O’Hara), sports (Tessa Virtue, anyone?) and more, but they all have one thing in common: a flawless sense of style that they truly make their own.
TESSA VIRTUE, Ice dancer
Hometown: London, Ont.
Recent Projects: 2018 Winter Olympics and Stars on Ice
Got it from her mama: Tessa told HELLO! Canada about having her mom as a stylist, including for The Ellen DeGeneres Show! "I’m very lucky. She has a great, keen eye for what works for me, she knows my taste very well and I’m so busy now that I don’t have that much time to be shopping for events and stuff, so I’m very lucky that I have such a stylish mom."
Style inspiration: “I’ve always loved Audrey Hepburn, and her style has undoubtedly influenced my aesthetic, both on and off the ice,” she told The Loop
From reps to red carpet: “I’m either in workout wear or black tie ready,” she told the publication. “I’d say my look has evolved in the sense that I’m better able to mix and match high-quality, high-end pieces with fun, funky, inexpensive elements.”
Take a load off: Relaxation keeps Tessa young! “We’re busy performing but I think it’s important to still take time for ourselves, whether that’s a bath at the end of the day or reading a good book,” she told HELLO! Canada. “Now it seems like the best relaxation is on a plane, because you’re sort of forced to disconnect.”

'Heartland' star Amber Marshall and 10 other celebrities who love horses
Next month, Heartland leading lady Amber Marshall, who turns 27 on June 2, will celebrate her second wedding anniversary with husband Shawn Turner. Their rustic ranch nuptials, as seen in Hello! Canada, were as much about the star’s love for animals as her love for her new husband. She proved she was a cowgirl through and through when she rode down the aisle atop one of her cherished horses, Hawk.
Hawk is one of three steeds that live at the actress’s ranch in High River, Alberta – a small town located approximately 40 kilometers south of Calgary and close to the set of Heartland. Miniature horse Talon and quarter horse Cash, along with a company of dogs, cats, birds, cattle and an alpaca named Betty, roam the property where the happy couple have made their nest.
Born in London, Ont., Amber began riding horses as soon as she was able to walk. She moved out west in 2007 after landing the role of horse-whisperer Amy Fleming on Heartland. A few years later, in 2010, she met Shawn at a horse show and they hit it off right away. Later, the couple attended a concert together where they chatted for hours and, as Amber told Hello! back in 2013, “That’s when I thought, 'You are a really interesting, intelligent young man.'”
Amber isn’t the only celebrity that loves the equestrian lifestyle. John Wayne and horses went hand in hand back in the 1950s and 1960s and, most recently, Shania Twain rode into her Vegas residency on horseback. To celebrate Amber’s birthday and her passion for horses, Hello! rounds up 10 stars who love to saddle up.
