for SASO2017 bonus round 4: prompt (x)
KnB School/Studying Headcannons
(This has all of the big six teams + coaches, idk man.)
┉┈◈◉◈┈┉ ┉┈◈◉◈┈┉ ┉┈◈◉◈┈┉
Seirin High
|| Junpei Hyūga
- Hyūga feels like the type of guy who looks smart, but is dumb as bricks
- The juniors of the team try to go to him for tutoring, and very quickly realize that he has the worst grades out of all of them. The only subject he has a good grade in is history
- Even in class, most people vibe check him as a smart guy, then they learn that he’s just an otaku for history and games
|| Shun Izuki
- Izuki will crash any study session that the team has, he is passing, and he is praying for his friends (Hyuga’s) downfall
- boy is a class clown, the teachers don’t really like him— he’s “too disruptive”
- he has pretty mid grades, but he’s also involved with school events. he has a lot of time to kill, so his attitude towards after school stuff is, “eh, why not?”
|| Shinji Koganei
- Shinji is doing fine, he excels when he can do projects that are hands on, think welding; guy is the class clown (complimentary)
- teachers like him since he makes the mood lighter, he helps students feel like they have a place
- he canonically is a guy that gets involved in a lot of sports, i feel like he spends a lot of time cheering on his friends in other sports like soccer or volleyball.
|| Teppei Kiyoshi
- Teppei looks and acts dumb, but his grades are great. The only thing that sucks is Teppei’s attendance
- most students think he is strange, quirky
- the man knows how to lighten the mood/help others calm down, by being the most insane person in the room (out of pocket guy)
|| Rinnosuke Mitobe
- Teachers love Mitobe because he’s calm, quiet, and knows all of the answers to questions. He acts as an unofficial teachers aid sometimes.
- he’s the type to hang out at the library during lunch since it’s chill in there, and the teachers gave him a key
- most of the school perceives him as a mysterious guy. Not in a Kuroko style, “is he real?” type way, more like a “what are his interests?” type way
|| Satoshi Tsuchida
- Tsuchida is a shy man, the guy doesn’t speak in class unless it’s for a group project. No one knows why, but he he seems to excel in physics (the wiki is very interesting)
- he’s a sleeper, no one expects him to do great, but when he does his entire class cheers for him
- his grades are very mid, but he’s a very consistent and reliable kind of guy. He always turns his assignments on time, he’s always on time for sports meets, he’s great.
|| Kagami Taiga
- Kagami is doing okay in most of his subjects, he has to, to be able to stay on the BASKETBALL TEAM!
- The only class he’s doing bad it is JPLit, because he hasn’t had the practice. He’s trying to improve in Lit by forcing himself to read
- people aren’t scared of him, they just avoid him because he seems like the kind of guy who attracts trouble (basketball related)
|| Kuroko Tetsuya
- Kuroko is asleep half the time he’s in class, of course his grades are barely passable
- Doing great for him means he has more than one B grade
- we already know kuroko is not being perceived by anyone, he intentionally does that so he doesn’t have to participate in class—
|| Kōki Furihata
- Furihata is that one kid who knows all of the answers, but doesn’t know how to explain their method of getting to them. He is an A+ student, but he just can’t tutor/help anyone study
- guy is socially awkward, which doesn’t help at all, he has gotten better confidence due to basketball, but he’s still working on it
- most people treat him like he’s super shy,
|| Hiroshi Fukuda
- To me, Fukuda feels like a himbo. Like Furihata he does get good grades, but he can’t explain how he gets to any of his answers.
- he helps out where he can, and more often than not he helps by being extra muscle, especially for school events // he is the set up guy/roadie
- Apparently his best subject is physics???
|| Tetsuya 2/No. 2
- This dog is cherished by by everyone at the school except Kagami
- No.2 helps out students by sitting in their laps/being their emotional support animal
- From what I can tell, No.2 is a stray dog, he’s not owned by Kuroko. I feel like people on campus always see him around and make sure he has food & water
|| Koichi Kawahara
- Koichi is the first years savior. He is a really smart guy, knows how to explain things, and is nice to his peers.
- taiga has this guy on speed dial because he is good at lit.
- outside of his smarts, Kawahara is seen as just some guy to most people
|| Coach // Riko Aida
- Coach is good in most subjects, but is bad when put on the spot for answers
- we already know she’s bad at home-ec, she knows, it’s okay, don’t worry about it, we got it covered—
- teachers are close to her since she is involved with everything, seriously the girl is everywhere, helping to plan every school event
- i think her coaching philosophy is the following: to succeed, these guys have to refine the skills they already have, while relying on others for the skills they don’t have
●~●~●~●~● ●~●~●~●~● ●~●~●~●~●
Kaijō High
|| Yukio Kasamatsu
- Yukio is scary to most of his classmates. He’s a part of the Disciplinary Committee, he is very no-nonsense
- When it comes to grades, Yukio is competing with himself, he tries really hard to get “better,” even though he’s an all A student
- people are afraid to work with him, due to this
|| Yoshitaka Moriyama
- This man does not care about his grade. This guy is very much a sports head
- so long as he can still play basketball he’s okay
- he is a very involved student though, he likes keeping himself busy, both for himself and because, “if I weren’t busy, that wouldn’t be attractive to girls wouldn’t it?”
|| Ryōta Kise
- Kise is excused from standard school work due to the fact that he does both modeling and sports
- guy gets alternative assignments, and he is very happy about that
- He’s really good at cramming, and tends to get his work done on time. He is a terrible tutor though. The moment a test is done, information goes out of his brain—
|| Koji Kobori
- Kobori is seen as the silent, mature, respected classmate. The team really like him because he seems worldly (has a lot of experience/has done a lot despite being young).
- he’s better at giving advice than he is at testing,
- He is passing, he actually follows advice about studying and tests (don’t cram, sleep well, eat properly).
|| Shinya Nakamura
- Shinya is the team’s designated tutor. Even outside of school, the guy is a huge nerd who likes learning.
- guy canonically knows JSL due to this
- most students see him as a big nerd, they don’t even know that he’s a part of the school basketball team
|| Mitsuhiro Hayakawa
- On the court this guy is loud and energetic, in classes, this guy is the type to yell out the answers/think out loud.
- he has shonen protagonist energy, he tries to do things on his own because he’s stubborn,
- when he was young he tried to study in silence, that did not work at all. Over time he realized that he needed stuff like classical music playing in the background to get things done.
|| Coach // Genta Takeuchi
- Takeuchi is the type to be stressed about his kids (the team) because he has a lot of emotional attachment to them.
- when teaching he “acts tough” because he wants to make sure that his kids can endure anything that comes their way.
●~●~●~●~● ●~●~●~●~● ●~●~●~●~●
Shūtoku High
|| Taisuke Otsubo
- Otsubo is passing solely due to his underclassmen
- He’s not dumb, he just has a lot to worry about, so his time is divided between school, sports, and his future
- he’s a cool uncle friend. His peers find it fun to hang out with him, but he also usually acts as the chaperone/handler of his friend groups. He keeps everyone on the same page.
|| Yuya Miyaji
- Yuya is so close to being kicked off the team due to his poor grades.
- He’s a great guy, he just has issues with consistency/turning stuff in on time.
- his brother has helped him with this a lot, but he’s trying to work at being organized on his own
|| Shinsuke Kimura
- Kimura is a very practical guy, he has the best work life balance out of the third years,
- He’s the team’s rock, he helps them calm down when they’re stressing about stuff like grades/the future
- Otsubo in particular relies on him when he gets stressed out about his plans,
|| Shintaro Midorima
- Midorima is pretty much good at everything, he’s silent though. He doesn’t share his answers/tutor unless he’s asked
- he’s a reserved guy, not because he’s shy, he just doesn’t like hanging out with people he doesn’t know really well
- most people see him as the silent stoic prodigy boy type, his teammates think that he’s their dude friend who’s a basketball nerd
|| Kiyoshi Miyaji
- Kiyoshi is a hard worker, guy is a valedictorian (or jp equivalent), he is the smartest of the third years, the defacto tutor
- he’s a nerd who people want to get close to, is what I mean
- since he’s an older sibling, he’s forced himself to be good at everything so he could be a good role model for his younger brother
|| Kazunari Takao
- Takao is a sleeper, no one expects him to be smart, yet “somehow” he has all As in his classes.
- it’s because he presents himself as a very chill, goofy guy, so no one expects him to put in the effort expected to get an A grade
- takao doesn’t tutor, unless it’s someone he knows already/cares about.
|| Coach // Masaki Nakatani
- the students treat him like an uncle, he’s pretty friendly, he just tends to trash talk other teams/get under their skin
- his teaching style feels like this: the kids should have a solid foundation of trust, that way, they can work together to find solutions during their games.
●~●~●~●~● ●~●~●~●~● ●~●~●~●~●
Tōō Academy
|| Shōichi Imayoshi
- Imayoshi is the school’s weird boy. He has a vibe that’s slightly offputting due to his appearance and mannerisms.
- for some reason I feel like he’s a part of the chess or shogi club, he likes mind games, so why not play the game that’s all about mind games
- guy has all As, no one on the team knows how or why
|| Daiki Aomine
- Aomine is just giving nothing
- He has passing grades, and he does not care about raising them. His attendance is abysmal, it’s a wonder how he hasn’t been kicked off the team
- socially, he tries to present himself as a hot boy who is totally getting girls (in practice, everyone knows he’s just some guy)
|| Kōsuke Wakamatsu
- Wakamatsu is a strict dad type. Although he is young, he’s definitely the type of guy who’d try to join the military in the future
- I feel like his grades are pretty good, Bs & As, it’s a point of pride for him,
- when he was younger, I feel like he would get stuck in his own head, get anxious over his test scores. this is why he yells at Sakurai, he’s trying to aggressively tell him “hey, you don’t have to worry about this !”
|| Yoshinori Susa
- Susa is good at calming people down (by shutting down irrational thoughts)
- he has older sibling energy, as a vice captain he is used to mediating arguments between people
- grade wise Susa is pretty mid, he’s good at explaining concepts, but he’s just decent when it comes to testing.
|| Ryō Sakurai
- Ryō is the typical “if I get anything below an A, I will cry” student
- the guy has really high standards for himself, so when they aren’t met he has to relax his standards
- he’s gotten better at this, but it’s taken a while
|| Manager // Satsuki Momoi
- Momoi is beloved by the staff. I feel like her parents/family are teachers, so on weekends Momoi’s family would have BBQ’s with Tōō staff.
- Momoi is not necessarily the smartest, but she is very good at analyzing, data collection, and problem solving
- when she doesn’t know what to do, she will exhaust all ways to find a solution
|| Coach // Katsunori Harasawa
- Harasawa treats everyone on the team like his kids, he will defend them and train them hard, especially imayoshi, this man treats him like he’s his son
- his coaching style seems very loose (focus on adapting, so long as everyone can be flexible and adapt depending on their game, they can do anything)
●~●~●~●~● ●~●~●~●~● ●~●~●~●~●
Yōsen High
|| Kenichi Okamura
- Okamura is a very lax guy, he doesn’t care about grade stuff since he’s doing well for himself
- guy is a third year, he has more pressing stuff to worry about than his grades. The man is looking for jobs okay
- he tries to help out his juniors where he can, by breaking their stubbornness and forcing them to ask for help or take breaks. He gets them things they need (snacks, school supplies, a shoulder to lean on).
|| Kensuke Fukui
- Fukui is future focused, he doesn’t care too much about his grades since he’s already doing good academically.
- Fukui looks intimidating, but in practice he’s a pretty quiet, reserved guy.
- he doesn’t tutor, since he doesn’t think that any of the juniors would want his help/most would be bratty (with the exception of Wei Liu).
|| Atsushi Murasakibara
- Murasakibara doesn’t care about anything unless it’s challenging to him. When it comes to grades, this guy could not care less
- socially, he’s in a weird spot; people know that he exists, but they have no real thoughts about him
- since he doesn’t talk much, most people associate him with (TALL); they think he’s a chill dude and that’s it, they don’t know how bratty he is
|| Wei Liu
- His teachers really like him, since he’s calm and his grades are great. His classmates are distant from him due to his height, and the fact that he’s a transfer student.
- Liu is a guy who does best when he works alone (in terms of assignments), even back when he was living with his family he was like this
- he feels like the type of guy to hide when he’s struggling academically. I get the feeling that he doesn’t like opening up because he feels like he should just push through his issues by himself.
|| Tatsuya Himuro
- Himuro is a very competitive guy, so of course he pushes himself to get all As, while still playing sports, while looking for job opportunities.
- often the team has had to reign him in when he practices too hard, he has gotten better at taking breaks
- socially the guy is very good at making friends, but he has a select group of people that he considers close to him
|| Coach // Masako Araki
- school staff initially think she’s terrifying,
- over time they realize that she’s a great teacher (she helps staff by improving communication/clearing up misunderstandings)
- her coaching style, more so than others relies on resilience (even if the people on your team don’t necessarily know each other well, those around you can last long and persevere.)
●~●~●~●~● ●~●~●~●~● ●~●~●~●~●
Rakuzan High
|| Seijirou Akashi
- Akashi does very well academically, in sports, in social settings.
- his peers respect him, and they appreciate him, but most people do not know him that well, at least in comparison to the other GoM.
- so despite being great in academics, socially, he’s kind of bad at chilling out/being more casual
|| Chihiro Mayuzumi
- Mayuzumi doesn’t ask for help in anything, he prefers doing stuff solo, mainly because he wants a sense of ease
- working with others is difficult because it means he has to deal with people judging his ideas/not letting him have control over what he wants to do
- he just doesn’t want to deal with that, he’d rather read up on physics alone at the library instead…
|| Reo/Leo Mibuchi
- Leo is a social butterfly, people find him fun to hang out with/fun to watch when he plays
- he just has that star/magnetic energy, he’s great at attracting people to their games due to this
- his grades in most of his classes are garbage. he likes talking, he doesn’t care about calculus—
|| Kotaro Hayama
-Kotaro is like a band kid, he’s the loud, weird boy who is a bit neurotic
- most of his school mates find him annoying, stupid, or just tolerate him (excluding his teammates)
- in practice Hayama doesn’t care, he just wants to have a good time in school where he can, so what if people find him annoying?
|| Eikichi Nebuya
- people (wrongly) assume nebuya is the dumb hot buff guy of Rakuzan, a himbo
- Nebuya is great with history and memorization stuff, he’s an all A student
- his weak point is working with others/in groups. he won’t work unless everyone is putting in the same effort as he is (80-100%), and usually there’s someone who isn’t
|| Manager // Shota Higuchi
- Higuchi through his time at Rakuzan built a network of study groups/smart, disciplined people to be around
- the vibe I get from him is the following: although he’s not necessarily the smartest, he’s great and bringing people who have different strengths together, a lot like Momoi
- however, he’s way more of a traditional nerd than she is. He’s definitely the type of guy who’s in like, the debate team or a poetry club.
|| Coach // Eichi Shirogane
- for some reason this coach feels like they’re the nicest out of all the GoM coaches
- yes, he’s described as cold by the wiki, but he has the most trust in his team to fulfill their tasks/goals.
- I feel like he’s subscribed to the coaching philosophy that the team should focus on power, anything else is secondary
