You Brought Her To School?: A Hello Neighbor Fanfic
By JJ
Summary: The gang is trying to figure out what to do about the cult, meanwhile, Nicky is trying to figure out what to do about the baby.
Trinity leaned forward against the lunch table with her head resting on the back of one of her hands.
Now that she knows there's more than one Crowface, she needs to come up with a new plan on how to take them all down.
"Trinity?"
She was pulled out of her thoughts when Enzo said her name.
"Hm?"
"Sorry, it's just the you've been really out of it lately."
Trinity just shrugged at that. "Well how else am I supposed to feel when we've got a whole cult on our tails instead of just one other person?", she rhetorically asked. "We need to figure out who's messing with us. I need to figure out why these people tried to clone me."
"We're ready to help however we can, Trinity.", Enzo said.
"I love how brave you are, Enzo.", said Trinity.
Maritza gagged at the sight of them basically openly flirting.
The sound of cooing turned everyone's attention to Nicky, who was wearing an oversized hoodie pulled over his entire body.
Trinity tapped on his shoulder. "Nicky?"
"Huh?"
"Do you have the baby with you right now?"
Nicky pulled the hoodie off him a little so the gang could see the baby in his arms, smiling happily while trying to grab the little rattle toy out of Nicky's hands.
"Why did you bring her to school?", asked Trinity.
"I couldn't just leave her at home. My parents work, and I couldn't find a babysitter.", said Nicky. "Besides, if I'm away from Lucille for more than 5 minutes, she'll start throwing a fit."
A minute of silence went by.
"You named her Lucille?", asked Delroy.
"Well I'm not just gonna keep calling her clone baby."
Trinity turned to face her friend. "That's actually something I need to talk to you about, Nicky.", she said. "We need to figure out what to do with Lucille. We don't know if those people will come back for her or if they'll try to attack us."
Nicky didn't look too sure.
"I mean, if they wanted to keep her, then they wouldn't have left her in the middle of the woods.", he said. "That basically tells me they see her as a failed experiment, so it's not likely they'll come back to get her."
"I guess you're right, but we still have to figure out what to do about her. You know you can't keep her forever."
"Of course I know that.", Nicky said. He let out a sigh, not because he was tired, but because he also knew he couldn't keep Lucille forever, but that didn't stop him from feeling like maybe he could convince his parents to adopt her?
No, he couldn't. They already thought he was just babysitting, so what'll happen when they find out Lucille didn't even have parents and Nicky was just taking care of this random baby he found that was actually a clone of one of his friends?
It was just too much to think about.
"Maybe we could plan a stakeout.", Trinity suggested. "We all have a feeling that different people in town might be Crowface, so if we find out who's part of the cult, maybe we can get some answers."
"That sounds like a plan!", said Enzo. Maritza rolled her eyes, but she agreed.
Ivan and Delroy just nodded.
"Nicky?"
Nicky looked up from Lucille to look at Trinity.
"You with us?"
"I...", Nicky hesitated for a moment. "I don't know if I can."
Trinity was confused. "Why not? I'm pretty sure you can find a babysitter for Lucille while -"
"Look, I just don't want to be a part of this, okay?", he said, more stern. "I just...I need to make sure she's safe."
Trinity just sighed, she had a feeling she wasn't going to win this battle, so she just left it at that.
She knew she dumped the clone baby on Nicky, knowing what he'd been through and not even considering if he was even sane or responsible enough to take care of that kid, but now that he was possibly a liability, she needed to make sure that Nicky was safe.
No one knew what to do about the baby though. That was the main issue.
