Sorry for not replying to any rp lately, but the last week has been... let´s say rough... Things are getting better, I just need a bit time.
But I promise I will answer everything until Friday. Thank you for your patience!
hello-i-m-beck
“You thought you could weasel your way out of this, huh? Let’s see that pretty smile of yours- I don’t believe we've met face to face, after all!”
Put a word in my ask and I will write a Headcanon about it for my Muse: Illusion.
Slight of hand has always held a fascination to him, especially as it’s a skill Sam has trouble with (like stealth - seriously, man, do you have to announce your presence to every rent-a-cop in the county?).
He started with card tricks, all the better to hustle the frat bros out of beers at parties, or pocket a keycard he wasn’t supposed to have. During his stupider “candy kid” days, it was also useful for hiding a joint or small bag of E. He had so much practice that he could make those vanish even when too high to do much thinking.
Most of the trick is getting the target to look elsewhere. Pull a sleeve when it’s really in the pocket, flip two cards and make it look like one, fake a stumble so they are looking at your feet and not your hands; simple, useful deceptions.
Accounting for his time? Let his father believe he is working late in the game department, tell his boss in games that he’s helping his father with a project. Neither is going to ask the other.
The same skills apply on the other side of the screen, just a different form. Let them see the circuitry and colors of an Encom game fighter so they don’t look for Ma3a’s stylized emblem on his right bicep. Let Mercury do the talking and watch the terminology she uses that would be different from human ones. Steer them toward the heavily encrypted sections Ma3a put on his disc so that they see that and not the memory files.
Never tell a direct lie, but never the full truth either.

❂:The Mun’s birthday. - It’s in January, but the exact date is on too many ID forms. Sorry.
☑:An OTP with your Muse in it (if you have any): Oh, man. I really do like playing with Jet/Mercury, especially in this headcanon, because the power dynamics and such are so bizarre. I run with the idea that he has taken a place as Ma3a’s secondary champion; Mercury being her primary one. On one hand, Jet is a deity over Mercury. His reluctance will not change that fact. On the other, he willingly submits to her command and follows her orders as her apprentice. In the process, he acts as Mercury’s conscience, as answering his questions makes her step back a bit and think through her actions instead of focusing on “see threat, end threat.”
♦:Relationship with your Muse: Even if I haven’t played against your version of Beck specifically? I figure they’ll end up comparing notes on the more frustrating and less-than-flattering similarities between Tron and Alan (there’s some dialogue in 2.0 where all you’d have to do is swap some names and it’s an Uprising script). After that, they’ll find some way to cause some trouble for all the right reasons. And even though I don’t headcanon it personally in the fic, there’s always a remote chance that Beck may be Jet’s Program.
