10.04.15 - Why so positive.
I bumped into a lady today who said she always sees me singing, and smiling, she stopped to ask me why I was always expressing so much positivity.
I thought about it and I looked at her and said...
I love music and the way it makes me feel. I love singing because when I sing I sing what I feel. I sing songs that make me happy, I sings songs that console the pain in my heart. And as for smiling -- It’s based on how you look at life. Have a good weekend.
Try smiling for a second. You have nothing to lose. :)
In grade 11 I decided to join the Boy's high school staged musical 'Seize the Night' to raise funds for various charities and promote the school's drama program. We did various dances to iconic songs of the past and present. Chicago's Cell Block Tango being one that really pushed my boundaries and broke down any insecurities I had. I am surprised my Mom was okay with me doing this number; she loved it. My best friend and I performed the Al Lipschitz scene together, she was the singer for the part and I the dancer. This is the first time I've seen the full 'movie clip' of the dance. I really need to watch 'Chicago'. We also danced to 'All that Jazz'.

--Waking in Brisbane is always exciting for me. The city breathes opportunity. The expectations you set for yourself become a liveable reality. When I woke up this morning I was feeling fresh. I took a moment to observe my surroundings allowing a few memories to pass. The one thing I learn from memories is that time is moving forward. So I should do the same.
--Brisbane isn't as confusing as I had once thought. Cities give me an everlasting energy that allow creative thought to ooze onto a blueprint which leads me closer to my dream. Usually sustained with a few flat whites and seeing people moving forward.
--This experience in Australia has taught me a very important lesson: the person I was trying so hard not to be is in fact the only person I am drawn to. This obscure reality leads me into a confused psychological battle resembling what Fanon mentions in ‘White Masks, Black Faces’ which I can’t wait to read.
So many good vibes from Sam's music. // Playlist of a dreamer, a wanderer, an adventure-seeking being. This gives me life right now.
Last week we met such a positive soul. Someone who has to this day inspired me to revisit my love for the ocean.
The strange thing about life is that everything connects.
He had just come from his solo adventure in South Africa so we had so much to catch up on, though most of his stories made me homesick, I listened with so much envy. I remember how much I love my home and my people. If anything bumping into this Austrian guy reminded me of so many wonderful life is. Truly blessed.
