I'm totally Lindou what are you talking about. I don't smell like human
Nice try, Mizuki. "If you are Lindou as you say, then prove it. Where are your fangs?"

Nice try, Mizuki. "If you are Lindou as you say, then prove it. Where are your fangs?"
"Do you really think you'd be happier if we broke up?"
”No, of course not. Nothing could make me happier than being with you.” His response was instantaneous, but he knew being with her wasn’t practical. Taking a step closer, he resisted the temptation to touch her, to gently caress her and give false hope that he could, with effort, be kind and human-like. He had tried and while faking a human identity had worked up until now, he could only imagine how much longer he could keep it up.
"I don’t want to break up with you. I want to be with you.” For ever and ever. “But I’m afraid I will only put your life at risk. And, I'm not just talking about the occasional bites. I fear I might hurt you beyond that — without meaning to, which frightens me even more.”
"Please understand. I want to protect you…"
"I-Is is true that we can't actually be together because I'm not royalty?"
He sucked in a breath before nodding, a little slow when doing so. "It is true, so long as you have no relations to royalty. I didn’t say anything earlier because…well, I really hoped I would be able to get permission from my family to marry you despite your status. I would have more confidence in doing so, but seeing as how you are human…it could make things a little more difficult." I.e., he needed someone he could rule with for years and years, not just short of a century.
He briefly met her eyes. Right before he could stutter out his next words, he turned his attention to the wall behind her. "I’m sorry if I got your hopes up. If you prefer, we can — we can break up right now. It might be easier to get it over with rather than wait when we know it will most likely happen eventually." Ouch. Not something he wanted to say let alone hear the answer to.
