I love how Hirano takes a blonde lovely baby girl and puts her in a relationship with Dracula and thats a respectful and nurturing relationship and there is absolutly nothing sexual about it he is nice to her because she deserves respect and that all about itĀ
he is not getting anything out of it except maybe trying to be decent which after centuries being a piece of shit to everyone is quite the effort i think and
I hate Hirano for a lot of reason, including the awful way he draws Seras but her relationship with Alucard/Dracula it is not one of them

WHAT A JERK nurtured her, he took care of her because ālifeā turned him into something that wanted to have healthy relationships with someone, because after leaving a life being an abuser and been abused he saw this bb girl and maybe thought:
"i think i could do you good, maybe?" and with ren...with ren it was just the worst and he was the worst and he knows it that why he is running because woow...ren exist on that liminal zone between something he maybe misses? (his freedom)
and something that he is probably afraid nowā¦he, the abuser, heā¦just like the family that had treated him so terrible in the past
it's such a weird thing from both their pasts to slam back into
like.. I don't think it'sĀ everĀ something that either Ren or Alucard would willingly seek out, but now that they're there.. there's potential for both some kind of closure.. or a total clusterfuck

the Hellsing OVA is great because it has the same plot as the manga with none of the fucking ridiculous Trigun-meets-Carmen Sandiego shit that Alucard had going on for the first book
We're watching Hellsing in anime club for the past several weeks
and we watched the first episode of Hellsing Ultimate (which is basically the first few episodes combined into 50 minutes with better animation and more interesting visual choices) and dear lord
