Orpheus ,
I’d almost forgotten what flowers look like , how good they smell . I close my eyes and it’s like i’m there , in the fields full of carnations . I still have it , the one you gave me in winter when you swore you’d marry me . I keep it in the book , between the marigolds and the poem . Did you write that ? You must have , I can feel spring’s soft breeze when I read it . It’s a welcome relief from the heat .
Gods , Orpheus , it’s so hot down here , the lights are so bright , like eternal Summer . The sweat rolls down our faces like some sort of labored rainstorm . I miss the rain . What was that thing you used to say about thunderstorms ? I can’t remember .
Tell me about spring next time , and fall . Are the leaves really as golden as they say ?
I love you .
