Hi! I'm so curious about the severance swap au! Like is Jame still the CEO of Lumon and Mark's his son and is Gemma Helly's dead wife or what do you envision? A full swap?

Hi, I'm so happy you ask! At first I was thinking of a full swap but quickly realised that there are characters that wouldn't work like that. On of these characters is Jame. There's just no one I can swap him with that would be satisfying or interesting to me personally. So for now I'm just gonna keep him like this, except that he and all of his ancestors will now be called Scout instead of Eagan.

Characters I thought of definitely swapping (other than Helly and Mark) are Petey/Gemma, Ms. Cobel/Dr. Mauer and Mr. Milchick/Reghabi. I have more in mind but they're pretty vague so far.

Petey and Gemma both work as mirrors to each other in terms of their importance in Mark's life. Petey is innie Mark's dead best friend/work husband while Gemma is outie Mark's lost loved one. To translate this into the AU Gemma would be Helly's best friend/work wife while Petey is the "dead" husband - but with the twist that I won't kill off either of them. Gemma's gonna survive somehow.

Cobel and Mauer will be more of a "soft swap". Cobel will still be the inventor of the Severance procedure but due to that she'll work on the testing floor. Mauer as head of the severed floor will remain the creep he is towards Gemma but as soon as she's gone, he moves on to Helly. Just like how Cobel moved in next to Mark, he moves in next to Helena (but purely because of his obsession with her). He later gets fired for this exact reason.

Milchick and Reghabi are pretty much completely swapped (apart from personality quirks). Milchick used to be a scientist at Lumon and then became the first person who successfully reintigrated someone (that someone being Gemma). Reghabi is the supervisor and later head of the severed floor (after Mauer gets fired). Like Milchick in the show, she slowly starts to crack and becomes more and more alienated towards her employer.

Because the show isn't finished yet, any of this might change later on. This is just for fun anyway so don't expect this to make a lot of sense. :) Also idk how much I'm actually gonna draw for this. But I'm currently working on something with Helly and Gemma soo stay tuned!
