Okay, I’ve been reblogging [specificly about the tumblr “best first” feature] a lot more recently, but I would just like to say, (almost passively aggressively to the staff for making this feature)
A lot of people are saying this is the reason for content creators having a drop in notes. Seeing how the feature works, that totally makes sense.
As a content creator who didn’t know about this feature?
I got so, utterly, completely discouraged. I figure (and still somewhat do) that the content I had been putting out just sucked , that it wasn’t getting notes because it wasn’t good. I seriously considered deleting my blog and every piece of fanfiction I’ve ever written.
And honestly, that’s a huge possibility. Maybe it isn’t good enough, maybe my writing just does suck- but, at least for those people who are good, please turn off the feature for them. They deserve notes and recognition- also, reblogging is everything, it gets the content out to more people, it really, really helps.
