I am here to tell you that if you are not in the restaurant industry, you are SEVERELY underestimating the number of restaurants that are on the brink of closing in the next 14 to 30 days. There are a very few of them that are doing well, but the majority of them are in grave and imminent danger. If you can afford to, PLEASE get take out, or delivery, or buy your Aunt dinner and have it delivered (even if in a different city). Buy a gift card or two or more and give those to people as holiday gifts. When restaurants close, the comments on the posts are ALWAYS full of people saying things like "If I had known my favorite spot was in trouble, I would have ordered more." This is me telling you: your favorite spots are in trouble right this very second!!! Do not wait to step up your delivery and takeout game. This is your chance... THE TIME IS NOW!!! Now through the next few months, PLEASE do everything you can to support YOUR favorite restaurants so you will be able to visit YOUR favorite places after the pandemic. Also, PLEASE sign the letter urging #Congress to pass restaurant relief! Thank you!
