I went to the park and I saw .... An old favourite but great memory game. The first child says ‘I went to the park and I saw a 🦆 The second adds an animal. I went to the park and I saw a 🦆 and a 🐕 and so it goes on adding more animals. Lots of alternative topics: I went to the shop and I bought ....I went to the zoo and I saw ...... Fun game for home or class. Make a pack of NOUN cards, A PACK of VERBS and a pack of end phrases like ‘the house’, ‘the garden,’ ‘ the bus.’ Peg up the word THE. For a group of children : 👶 🧒 One child chooses a noun card like ‘dog’ or ‘man’. The next child pegs up a verb card like ‘drank’ or ‘dug’. The last child chooses an end phrase like ‘the coke’ or ‘the garden’. Then everyone looks at the sentence and draws what they think it says.
