Oh. Hey. It's that girl. The one who claimed to be Tailtiu's kid. Shit, he'd probably gotten off on the wrong foot with her with the way he'd responded initially, hadn't he? With the information he had now, it seemed a lot more plausible than it had been initially. Lex still wasn't entirely certain he bought the story, but he should probably try and patch things up. It wouldn't be right to leave things uncomfortable with her if she were Tailtiu's daughter.
Lex casually moseyed on over in her direction, making sure not to make eye contact as he approached. He only took a few steps at a time before pretending to be focused on something else. He was acting like he was trying to get close to a scared animal. Within a few moments, he had appeared by Tine's side, though he only took a brief glance her way before he opened his mouth. Eye contact might be a bit too intimidating for her right now.
"Hey, kiddo," Lex greeted her amicably, trying to pretend like he hadn't completely frightened her off the first time they spoke. "You look a little pale. You seasick or something?"
He had no idea if she looked pale or not. This might just be her normal complexion for all he knew. After all, he'd only really gotten a good look at Tine once before.
Was it rude or polite that she pretended not to notice his aproach?
On one side it was clearly his intent not to be spotted; on the other, she's done nothing but get herself further caught up in the inevitable nervousness.
Especially frustrating in how, unlike their only real interaction, the only intent behind it is concern.
Kiddo?
The last time she checked, he didn't believe her one bit, and right now they seem to be about the same age.
Still, in whatever light he sees her, it doesn't change the fact that he was dear to her mother; it wouldn't be right to keep on being upset.
" 'm fine. Don't worry."
Her circumstances should be far more favorable, but still he must understand the fear of coming home.
