i don’t trust AO3 to send me updates on when a fic gets updated (because Anger is But Passion Born of Love is literally the first fic I have ever loved enough to subscribe to, I think about it weekly if not daily) and I was wondering if A) you could comment on the effectiveness of subscribing to a fic and if not B) if you have suggestions on a better way to be on the lookout for updates that is not obsessively refreshing it approximately once a day.
AO3 definitely sends you emails when a fic you've subscribed to updates. In my experience, the email arrives between 10–20 minutes after the author presses Post.
Aside from that, I always make a post here on Tumblr announcing updates right when I post on AO3.
It's flattering to know that you love our fic so much and think about it so often. Our priorities have just been elsewhere for a while, and neither of us are really writing much of anything. That said, we will absolutely keep writing Anger is But Passion Borne of Love, and we will absolutely finish it. It might just take us a while to get there.
