Wrong UFO
It was late at night and everything was wrapped in complete darkness, save for a bright haze in the distance and the headlight of the vehicle I was driving. It was some suburb area with houses lining the sides of the road, given way to more barren stretches of open desert, and finally a deserted clearing in a field. Well, it should have been.
I was driving a HEMTT. Instead of a barren field there were dozens of high-intensity work lights and clusters of military-dressed people gathered near piles of covered pallets and equipment. The cargo on the trailer of the HEMTT is some kind of large disc standing up on end. Instead of stopping in the clearing, I sped up and circled around to come to a crooked stop near the edge of the lighted area. It felt like I had done this to spite the military, instead of looking to them for support.
The thing on the trailer was supposed to be a UFO. A real one. A flying saucer. But, it's really just two pieces of circular cardboard stuck together. There was something odd about it, though.
In the distance the military have gathered around something in the center of the lighted area that does look like a real UFO, and not even saucer shaped. I think there were some aliens among the military, in disguise.
I had to get some self-surgery done on my head. I took off the top of my skull and scraped carefully at some strip of cardboard stuck to one area inside the curve of it. I had to do it very carefully, and it seemed to be under a magnifying lens or even some kind of microscope. A robot was doing the same thing some distance away, mirroring my activity. We were both outside, or in a wide hallway.
I headed back to the HEMTT and came to find out the cardboard UFO was actually a real UFO that just looked like cardboard, and the way to get into it is by sliding through a strange membrane in the center of one side.
Coolest thing I have ever had the #honor of being a part of ... holding up the flag that stole my #heart for the national anthem tuesday evening.
