The Grand Prix went to Tegoshi’s “Can a human get away from technology Part II”. However, Shige got a special prize for his heroic consumption of weird products. Yes, just for that. Massu didn’t get any awards. But Massu didn’t seem upset. Maybe because while you guys smelled socks and ate roaches he played games with kids and hit on girls?
Next came the NEWS Image Survey.
“Don’t know them/know too little to have an opinion” moved to #5 and it was just 5 people out of 100. Like, woah.
Without change, at #4 was “Tegoshi”. One girl said: “He’s cool but a little annoying. But I really respect some things about him.” Which is basically how every sane person feels about Tegoshi.
#3 was “They are close”.
#2 was “They all have individual work” There were some different opinions than the last time though. One girl said Massu has a cute, soft character while Kato is handsome and cool but sort of “battered” since he can’t do sports and such. They also found the girl who had no word for Massu in the first interview calling her “Desu girl” and once again asked her to name NEWS members characters. This time she said: Koyama - caster; Tegoshi - variety shows; Kato - writer & athletically challenged and Massu... a character with no image. She also left Massu a message where she apologized for her previous comment and promised to support him.
#1 Was “They are doing their best as 4″ and several people said NEWS were the best they ever were now and that the best members are the current ones. Everyone was really happy and touched. And then Tegoshi turned and asked:
T: So what do you think, “battered Kato”?
S: Hey! Last time it was all about me being handsome and a writer and now after Hen Lab I’m battered. But now we are known to many people, it’s a perfect result. A Happy End.
Well, Happy End require sacrifices. Shige made his. So long, Hen Lab! I shall not miss you. But thanks for the swimsuits. Yeah.

Tegoshi’s segment focused on him being a “monster” and how he can take anything except maybe horrors that remain his weakness. Tegoshi said he was grateful to the show for bringing out his monster.
K: You were a “monster” from the start! The show just exposed it.
T: That’s right. I became more of a “monster”.
On a side note, the boy really needs to stop scraping his limbs.

Massu’s part was about Massu’s crooked path in search of his own character. It all started with the “Desu disaster” when a girl who was interviewed could name all of the member’s occupations except Massu’s. So it went on from “Mad Massu” to “Big Brother Massu” to “Masuda Takahisa from Class 3-B” to Massu the loverboy. All the way watching the video clips Massu kept exclaiming “So cute!” or “So cool!” Clearly nobody enjoyed Massu’s episodes as much as Massu did.

To make it simpler they took one characteristic about each of the members’ research. Koyama’s was him being naked a lot. They even brought up Koyama’s fart episode which was way from when this show was Koyashige’s. Like, I get it. You wanna see Koyama’s nakedness but I tried so hard to erase the very existence of this ‘experiment’ from my memory. Thanks, staff.
