Being born with a silver spoon in your mouth is incredibly privileged. Henri knew that, he was entered into a world that gave him everything, anything, and more. It wasn’t not due to hard work, his great-great grandparents had started from mere nothing in Paris, France. Attempting to scrape by, barely being able to afford the basic needs when someone was willing to take a chance on his great-great grandfather. With a small business loan, basic knowledge in jewelry making from his family past, and a very big dream, his wife and him went on to open a small, local, jewelry store. They specialized in everything, from making beautiful pieces to fixing those antique pieces that everyone wanted to keep as a family heirloom. Business by then was booming, everyone who could afford - - including royalty, has had a piece of more made by D’Or et de Rêves.
It catapulted their family into a level of financial success that no one could have predicted. They had affluent families, dignitaries, politicians, celebrities, you name it come to Paris to see the exclusive collections that the shop now made. It was his families greatest passion, something that continued to only grow as time went on. When his grandparents took over the shop, they made the decision expansion was the next big step, and moved to London to open a satellite store. There things seemed to go just as well, it continued to grow, but they knew that the large store in Paris, France would always be headquarters.
As time went on, the Delacroix continued their expansion to New York City, with another large store, in a bustling town of opulence before settling a small shop in Merrock. It was where his parents had settled down after marrying. They had the responsibility for awhile, all while taking care of a very active little boy they had welcomed into the world, Henri. Having children had always been the goal of his parents, which also led them to having a sibling very shortly after Henri. It was a great dynamic, and while he won’t pretend, he was spoiled, he wanted for nothing, and now he appreciated the finer things of life probably a little too much, he still was surprised when his parents - - prior to really being the age to retire, handed over D’Or et de Rêves into his ownership, leading him to be the new CEO and owner. It was a huge responsibility to step into, and he can admit, at first he hasn’t been the best given his need to spend money, travel, and live an extravagant lifestyle.
After going to Paris again, this time really getting a look at just how special the original store was, to see the people in the community have so much love for a place that had been around for decades upon decades, slowly started to change his mind. Thankful that he had gone to college and gotten a degree in business, he now is slowly attempting to make and continue the beautiful works that his lineage had started. In between he is taking specialized courses for gemology, jewelry design, and more - - but he hasn’t really pointed that out. Besides that, he’s still the same over the top, opulent, lover of owning way too many cars and expensive shoes, and he knows that sometimes buys him enemies but the truth is, he doesn’t really care.
