Henry Hensche (1899-1992) was born in Germany and came to America with just his father ten years later, he became a teacher of painting as much as painter in his own right. He worked on the docks to earn the money to go through the five different schools of painting that he attended, finding a vocation and style with the fifth, The Cape Cod School of Art.
