Well, I've seen some of the Disney Films that he Starred in on DVD at Costco/Price Club, so why do a Tribute on this Funny Gentleman. Here is a Voice Acting Tribute to Mr. Don Knotts, who is Best Known for playing Barney Fife in 'the Andy Griffith Show', also star of 'the Apple Dumpling Gang', 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World', 'Gus', & 'Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo'. But he is the Dashing voice of Henry Limpet(In which he played a Live-Action role & an Animated Fish Character role) in 'the Incredible Mr. Limpet', Playing his Animated self in 'the New Scooby-Doo Movies', Gee Willikers in 'Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night', Professor Nidaros in 'the Little Troll Prince' & Wormie in 'Hermie & Friends'.

I was recommended this movie naturally while at the aquarium with a friend. I could not believe that Don Knotts was an animated fish in a war-centric movie, but here this movie is, existing for decades and it's a huge surprise i've never heard of it. Despite such an interesting premise, the movie is rather boring due to the strange pacing. This could have been a half-hour tv special if it weren't for the extended conversations. There aren't a lot of strong character motives in this film, but I think they're all very interesting people nonetheless.

I believe Mr. Limpet is a selFISH (pun) individual. Self-centered in his hobbies that prove destructive to his relationships, he takes no responsibility for dragging others along without constructive thought about them. Regarding Bessie, he doesn't ever do anything she wants to do. While they have a hard time loving each other, they do deeply respect each other. George has proven to be a truly loyal friend, but he asks him for wild favors that are not easy with his position in the navy. He asks Crusty to do things for him without regards to his own life, and he names his new girlfriend Ladyfish for Pete's sake! Then he decides to play god with the us navy, what's the deal with that?

The art direction, in both the life action segments and the animated ones, are very nice. I appreciate how animated the live acting is to pair with the drawn animation, it helps the entirety of it to be more believable. The humans are a little silly, and the fish are a little human. The painterly fish backgrounds in this film are beautiful, and the set and camera lighting is well planned. It was a little disappointing to see how recycled some of the animation was, revealing the varying ends of budget to this film.

OH and how could i forget, the asinine sound mixing. That horrific death howl Don Knotts fish releases? it made the dogs next door to my apartment start going off the freaking handle. I nearly blew out my computer speakers with the first one.

A man wanted to serve his country in the navy and fulfill his dreams of getting freaky with fish and all it took for him to do so was to drown and get turned into an animated talking fish. Civilizations are at stake, thousands of lives lost, in the most destructive war the world has bared witness to, changing the course of society and history as we know it, and this movie plays that it lies entirely within the ability of a fish.
