So when I saw HenrySteadman on the back of Maria V Snyder's books, I googled him up. Turns out he was the cover designer/photographer for Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, Gerald Seymour's thriller series, and some of Jame's Patterson's too! What I find unusual is that I've never heard of him until now... that is to say I assumed, that photographs get a platform established before they are on to the market, book covers, magazines etc. He's the other way round. But why! No one knows what beautiful covers he makes!
Oh gah. Life like that. His photographs are also quite brilliant, not something I usually like, but his are really really good. Especially the Gerald Seymour covers. Bam. And a few 1800s themed photos.
*edit: And it just irks me so much when I type his name into google, all I come up with is his main webpage. Where are all the extra tidbits, the photoblogs, the photo-sharing sites, the flickr the etc the etc? I've gotten so used to google-ing photographers that have so much of their photos scattered around the net, I'm just a bit unused to this single-site-individual.
Yah yah check him out.
