A Day in a Life of Anna (pt. 1)
She usually wakes up with the sun around six, long before her husband (who is a night owl) or even her dog, Scout, who both spend another hour in bed. She enjoys the peace of dawn with her coffee in hand. After her quiet time and prayer she is ready to start the day.
Around seven she gets in her jeep with the dogs and heads to the stables. During the summer months most horses spend nights on the pasture, the only left to feed being the stallions. Her staff preps all the haybags in the evening, leaving them ready for Anna to distribute among the hungry boys in the morning.
Then it’s time for the first stallions to be turned out.
Afterwards Anna does a quick round and takes care of a few necessities before the staff arrives, like browsing the schedule for the day and checking messages. Once arriving at the gelding paddock she checks on Árvakur, who has been lame for a couple of days and had to be separated. He does not enjoy being alone, but the sooner his leg heals the sooner he can join his herd again.
Once everything seems to be ready for the day she grabs her tack and calls her favorite gelding, Heppni over. She proceeds to ride back home, giving her horse and the dogs a good workout. Back at the house she will have breakfast with Neal and work in her office a while, before riding back to the stables around eleven.
