The One Where I Do Care
It was stupid.
You don’t even remember the reason you had gotten into the pathetic fight with your long-time boyfriend, Chuck.
Tensions had been high the last few months with everyone scrambling to find Amara, and a way to defeat her.
“I don’t understand why you won’t listen to me!” Chuck yelled, waving his hands frantically in the air.
“Because all of your ideas fucking suck!” You yelled back, not even caring that your response sounded lame.
Chuck, however, seemed hurt by your words. “I’m am trying my best, Y/N,” Chuck said calmly, “But if you’re not willing to accept my help then I’ll just leave!”
You didn’t want him to, but your stubbornness and pride clouded your judgement as you crossed your arms, “Fine,” you said.
Chuck looked at you, slightly dumbfounded.
“Go then, leave!” You spat, “See if I care!”
You watched as Chuck’s mouth opened and closed multiple times as if he was going to say something. After a moment, he said, “Fine. If that’s what you want.”
And without a single word, he spun on his heel and walked out of the bunker.
“I do care,” you whispered almost silently into the now empty room.
