For Meatless Monday, enjoy a tasty and cheesy adult version of regular cheese pizza. There is a tasty tomato sauce, a mix of mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, fragrant herbs, and fresh basil on top of this pizza's crispy crust. It's a tasty treat for pizza lovers that doesn't have any meat in it.
Ingredients: 1 pizza dough. 1/2 cup tomato sauce. 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese. 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese. 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano. 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional. Salt and pepper to taste. Olive oil for drizzling.
Instructions: Warm up your oven to 475F 245C and put a pizza stone or an upside-down baking sheet in the middle rack to heat up. On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough to the thickness you want. Place the rolled-out dough on a piece of parchment paper so that it is easy to move to the hot oven. Evenly spread the tomato sauce over the pizza dough, making sure to leave a little space around the edges for the crust. The grated Parmesan and mozzarella cheese should be spread out evenly over the sauce. Add the minced garlic, dried oregano, and if you want red pepper flakes to the cheese. Feel free to add more salt and pepper to your liking. Carefully place the pizza on the pizza stone or baking sheet that has been heated in the oven on top of the parchment paper. Put it in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly and a little browned. Use oven mitts or a pizza peel to take the pizza out of the oven. Add the chopped fresh basil leaves to the hot pizza. Add some olive oil on top to make it taste even better. Cut the pizza into pieces, serve it hot, and enjoy your Meatless Monday Adult Cheese Pizza!
