Stormy Faye The Christian Runaway Pause and Pray I was challenged today by someone who is . . . let us say, not my favorite person. The crux of being a Christian, within the ropes of this world of political correctness and human emotions. I reached a level of “fed-upness”. Voice raised in return to a blatant false accusation. I had had ENOUGH. BOLD with my frustrated stance, in the face of this human foe. I wanted to throw a verbal TKO punch to the throat. Upper right cross. #HereComesTheChamp #PlayTheSong No lie. Seriously. Somebody should pray for me. Like now. Seriously. Hours later, after the momentary dust-up has settled, I sit here and reflect how I should have responded better to the situation. Coulda, Shoulda, Woulda Syndrome. Anybody else fall victim to it’s left hook? POW POW It will knock you flat on your backside, so you have time to think. Yeah, time to think for us when we should have paused and prayed before saying that, or doing that with whomever or whatever we allowed to put us in the position to look up at the sky and say, “LAWD! HELP!!!!” #HowdidIgetfromtheretohere But you don’t hear me tho. The bells are ringing too loudly. The highlight reels are playing in HDTV. I wonder if you and I would be so quick, so fast to the draw to go so BOLDLY IN PRAYER. (crickets chirping) I know, I know. Messing up the fight song. What would happen IF… IF… we PAUSED AND PRAYED… PAUSED AND PRAYED (confused look among the crowd of quickly dispersing onlookers) Yeah. #SpiritualGrowingPains PAUSED AND PRAYED BEFORE we opened our mouths to slay somebody with the truth. Maybe instead of it being all factual and truthful, it would be factual and fruitful. Maybe, if we muted our quick temper and mouth a prayer for a minute, the truth of God will be spoken into our spirit to the root cause of the situation. But you don’t hear me tho. Pause and Pray??? (amused chuckle) The things the Holy Spirit keeps whispering to me.
