I’ve been trying to figure out how to share this happy news... It was supposed to be as easy as “my comedy special just released!” 🎉 But I found out in the middle of a snow storm and service was cutting in and out on a long drive in the middle of Oregon. I figured I’d wait till we got home but that was 1:30am, so I’d wait till the next day, which was not only Thanksgiving but also my husband’s birthday 🎉🎉. I wanted to celebrate him, but then I also found out my grandma passed away, and not to make it about timing, but it just didn’t feel good to pretend to celebrate in the midst of something tough. I was supposed to promote this right away, and sure, things can be good and tough at the same time, but something in me just couldn’t pretend at that exact moment. The birthday cake was a couple days late (I love @joshnewton). Anyhow, in the midst of some tough and beautiful things is also the fact that I worked hard this year and got to film a @drybarcomedy special and they actually released it the day before Thanksgiving! That’s crazy awesome! I love that I had a call to love our older generations while we could, not knowing what laid ahead for me but trying to live out what I say. I got to see my grandma in October, just 2 weeks before this filming and said I couldn’t wait to see her again at Christmas. I don’t mean to make this heavy, it’s exciting too- that’s life; humor and pain, dark and light, dust and divine breath. It’s not one or the other, it’s just all in there, and for the most part I think it’s really, really good. So, here it is, my Dry Bar Comedy Special: Doodle All Day!
