This is Chibi, a shiba inu しばいぬ a small Japanese hunter. The breed name literally translates to bush hunter, and his call name means “little” which is quite fitting! These small to medium size dogs are amazing pets though they do best in single dog families as they can be quite territorial. They were originally bred to deal with the mountains of japan and hunt small game such as rabbits and other rodents. Now they are beloved for their small size, and lovable face! This gorgeous Labrador Retriever originates in the icy regions of Newfoundland, where they were used as water dogs to bring in fish and eventually birds such as ducks. Their fur is unique and able to slough off icy waters while maintaining a warm undercoat. Their rudder-like tail helps give them direction as they swim.
