Climbed the Melbourne Town Hall’s elegant staircase tonight, past a chorus line of bashful young chaps in horse-prancing headwear, into a softlit tunnel trimmed with flute-bearing waiters (plucked one), strolled on and out into which opens into an engrossing transformation of that spectacular Victorian ballroom into a multi-artisan French atelier; silkscreener, watchmaker, leathercrafter, scarf designer, jeweler, porcelain painter, something else and something else, everything Hermès exquisitely handmakes.
