I don't get Hermie's hype amongst fans. Throughout my watch I cannot get myself to like him or enjoy his character. And I WANT to. He has everything going on for me to like him, but, I just can't. He's so unforgettable to me. And I know woe is tragedy, that's his whole thing is he's unmemorable and not a person and is always ignored but..... IDK. He's just The Following NPC to me. Much like Paeden. And I was neutral on Paeden too but he grew on me eventually. Hermie still.... Hasn't. I just care more about the teens and other NPCs more
.
I'm almost caught up on s2 and I just don't like Hermie. Paeden was cute. I usually like NPCs "stuck" with parties but Hermie is just.... I know this is his whole thing and like oh it's so tragic but I just don't care about him. He's so boring. There isn't any reason FOR me to like him. I liked his interactions with Taylor but other than that it's just... I kinda hope we can ditch him because atm I really do not care about him or his lost sense of selfhood when all teens have much more interesting stories
.
I dont get the Hermie hype. i definitely dont get the Oakworthy hype.. i DO get the normal hype hes my special little guy my favoritest
.
i genuinely do not understand why hermie is so popular. like i respect you hermie fans but i Dont Get It. his method actor gimmick and the way it ties into his identity issues and the fact hes always forgotten is fun and good, but he is so underdeveloped that i have literally no interest. he doesnt really add anything anyway. he should have stayed as a one-off character imo, or at least a side character that isnt always with the party
.
Hermie becoming a flanderisation is what made me deeply dislike him as a character. He's just "the guy who wants to be all the batman villains" now and it sucks. What intrigued me the most was him at the dance - he was actually a human being, talking about shit teens talk about, actually having a personality when talking and interacting with the cast.
I've seen people say that he's becoming the new Paeden of the group - the character they just randomly take with them on the adventure. And while Paeden also always got forgotten (it worked for him bc him keeping quiet ment he could tag along) he actually had a charming personality. He was this 8 year old boy who liked fighting and stabbing shit, he was adored by the cast and characters. Hermie has just become so boring that half the cast don't even care if they forget about him, honestly i think only Will and maybe Anthony care about it.
This also goes into the whole ordeal i have where i think Anthony doesn't rly care about the NPCs he creates (him barely giving anyone a proper personality and killing off characters with no warning just for the shock factor). But more on my problems with Anthony for another day and for a different confession

Hermie is overheated i do not remember paeden getting this treatment

Normal is the worst pc
Hermie is such a bad npc
