My swap!au ,,, in 2023??? It’s more likely than you think

Ratchet is actually the king pin villain, and his right hand man is Captain Qwark. Dr. Nefarious is only trying to do his job.

Okay okay so I randomly thought about this AU where Qwark never leaves Florana after he’s adopted (???) by the monkeys (???). He just kinda, stays there all Tarzan style. He helps protect his family group, and provides for them as well.

Then, one day, a strange ship crash lands in the jungle not too far off from Qwark’s home. Qwark, being the protector, goes off to investigate. He discovers an unconscious lil green creature.

In this AU Qwark actually wouldn’t talk, at least not in a way Nefarious could understand. Nefarious would also be … well, happier in this version. He never got bullied. Soooo, he joins the rangers as per his dreams, and is aspiring to see as much as he can. His name probably wouldn’t be Dr. ‘Nefarious,’ but I can’t imagine calling him anything else.

I originally thought it would be more of a playful rivalry, but considering how well Qwark pulled off the bad guy role in the first R&C game… this wouldn’t be so far off. There’s a lot to their relationship to explore in this AU and I’m quite excited to do some exploring of the concept.

Qwark still has his charm, his dashing good looks, and can actually be quite intelligent. (Although I’ve never really believe OG Qwark was unintelligent in the first place, I think he hides it to avoid backlash from the galaxies he travels thru)

Nefarious is a ball of anxiety and easily flustered, but extremely smart and a quick thinker. He believes people can be forgiven and change for the better, which is really the only reason why Nef puts up with the notorious Captain Qwark. But Qwark tends to take advantage of his kindness. That’s not to say Qwark doesn’t end up catching some feelings for the scientist… uwu and perhaps they are reciprocated?? Hmm

Again, it’ll be interesting to explore this AU. Hopefully I get more time to do so! If y’all wanna know more about it I’d love to talk your ear off about it ^~^
